Samsung has officially announced its Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event, scheduled for January 22 in San Jose, California.

The event will commence at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET and will be streamed live via Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom, and YouTube. The spotlight will be on the Galaxy S25 series, promising groundbreaking innovations in mobile AI technology.

What to Expect at Galaxy Unpacked 2025

    Galaxy S25 Series

Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S series will take center stage with three models anticipated:

    • Galaxy S25
    • Galaxy S25+
    • Galaxy S25 Ultra

The devices are expected to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC paired with 12GB of RAM as standard. Battery capacities may range from 4,000mAh for the base model to 5,000mAh for the Ultra variant.

Leaked renders suggest a design shift for the Ultra model, potentially adopting rounded corners. The S25 and S25+ are likely to retain their familiar designs.

    Project Moohan

Samsung could reveal its highly anticipated XR headset, Project Moohan, powered by Google’s Android XR platform. This device is rumored to combine AR, VR, and AI for an immersive experience.

    Galaxy S25 Slim

Rumors hint at a Galaxy S25 Slim, designed to bring premium features to a more compact and affordable form factor.

    Wearable: Galaxy Ring 2

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Ring 2, a next-gen smart wearable aimed at competing with devices like the Oura Ring. Key features may include:

    • Advanced AI functionalities.
    • Improved health data sensors.
    • Enhanced battery life.
    • Additional size options for personalized comfort.

    Mobile AI

Samsung has positioned the Galaxy S25 series as a step forward in mobile AI, promising interactions that are “more natural and intuitive.” These advancements aim to reshape user experiences by blending intelligence with convenience.

With competitors like Apple and Google focusing heavily on AI, Samsung’s approach underscores its ambition to lead in practical, user-centric innovations.

    Preorder and Trade-In Benefits

Samsung is rewarding early adopters with attractive incentives:

    • $50 Credit for preorders.
    • Up to $900 Trade-In Credits for eligible devices.
    • An additional $300 Instant Credit for reservations made by January 22.

    CES and Galaxy Unpacked

With CES 2025 kicking off in Las Vegas, Samsung’s Unpacked event is strategically positioned to grab global attention.

The January 22 keynote is expected to focus heavily on AI-powered innovations and the Galaxy S25 series, reinforcing Samsung’s leadership in cutting-edge technology.

    The Evolution of Galaxy Unpacked

Samsung’s Unpacked events have become synonymous with its innovation roadmap, which is held twice yearly. The January edition highlights flagship Galaxy S devices, while the summer event showcases foldables.

Last year’s summer Unpacked in Paris featured the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6.

    Galaxy AI

Samsung aims to address consumer skepticism around mobile AI. A 2024 CNET survey revealed that 25% of smartphone users found AI features unhelpful.

With the Galaxy S25 lineup, Samsung hopes to redefine user perceptions by focusing on practical and user-focused AI enhancements.
