Linktree is expanding beyond its traditional link-in-bio format by introducing a comprehensive set of monetization tools designed to help creators generate income directly from their profiles.
Highlights
The rollout includes features for course creation, digital product sales, affiliate marketing, sponsored content, and fan contributions—all integrated within the ecosystem.
Course Creation Through Kajabi Integration
A key addition is the ability for creators to sell educational content through a new integration with Kajabi.
This feature supports creators such as coaches, musicians, and educators by allowing them to offer paid courses directly from their Linktree profiles.
Pricing is determined by the creator, and payments are processed via Stripe, giving users control over their revenue without relying on external platforms.
Native Digital Product Sales
Previously reliant on third-party services like SendOwl, Linktree now supports native sales of digital products such as templates, e-books, and guides. This change streamlines the purchasing process and introduces a tier-based pricing model linked to the user’s Linktree subscription plan.
Affiliate Marketing and Brand Storefronts
Linktree has launched tools that enable users in the U.S. to curate affiliate storefronts linked to brands such as Target, Amazon, Lululemon, and Revolve.
These storefronts allow creators to earn commission on featured products. Additionally, creators can integrate individual affiliate links, offering more flexibility in how they engage with affiliate programs.
Sponsored Link Options
The new sponsored link feature allows brands to pay creators for premium placement on their Linktree pages.
These links are labeled as “sponsored” and can operate on a cost-per-click, cost-per-impression, or cost-per-conversion basis. This introduces native advertising as a revenue stream while maintaining transparency with audiences.
Creator Rewards Program
Linktree has also introduced a “Rewards” program that provides creators with bonus commissions when performance milestones are reached. The company has indicated that this program may evolve to support direct brand collaborations in the future.
Cultural Considerations with “Buy Me a Gift”
To address the varying comfort levels with tipping across cultures, Linktree has introduced the “Buy Me a Gift” feature.
Supporters can choose symbolic gifts—represented by emojis such as ☕ (coffee), 🍺 (beer), or 🎁 (gift)—and send one-time contributions using payment platforms like PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. No transaction fees are charged for this service at present.
Merchandise Sales via Bonfire
A partnership with Bonfire allows creators to design and sell branded merchandise such as T-shirts directly through their Linktree profile. Bonfire manages inventory, printing, and shipping, with product pricing based on built-in costs for production and fulfillment.
Digital Product Showcase with SendOwl
Linktree’s existing integration with SendOwl continues to support sales of digital content including e-books, courses, and videos. Creators can display up to ten products in a carousel layout. SendOwl offers a free plan with a 5% transaction fee and several paid plans with reduced fees.
Linktree Shops for Affiliate Products
Currently in beta, Linktree Shops offers a dedicated space for showcasing affiliate-linked products. The feature is designed to create a visually organized storefront, potentially improving conversion rates by enhancing the user shopping experience.
Payment Lock for Premium Content
They are testing a “Payment Lock” feature, allowing creators to place certain content—such as music, videos, documents, or playlists—behind a paywall. This tool provides a method for monetizing exclusive content directly through Linktree.
Centralized Wallet for Earnings Management
To streamline income tracking, all earnings from Linktree’s monetization tools are consolidated into a single wallet.
This wallet serves as a central dashboard for managing income from various sources, including course sales, merchandise, affiliate commissions, and fan donations. It was initially tested with Linktree Shops and is now being extended across other revenue features.
Unified Monetization Hub with “Earn” Section
The newly introduced “Earn” section is now accessible via both the Linktree app and web interface.
With these features available to its reported 70 million users, they is positioning itself as more than a bio-link service—aiming instead to become a versatile monetization hub for creators, with functionality comparable to platforms like Patreon.
