Apple iPhone SE 4 and PowerBeats Pro 2 Launching February 11 – Leaks & Features

Apple is rumored to unveil its fourth-generation iPhone SE alongside the PowerBeats Pro 2 wireless earbuds on February 11, according to Bloomberg.

With no formal event invitations sent out, the announcement is expected to be low-key, possibly through a press release or online update.

    iPhone SE

The new iPhone SE is expected to adopt design elements from the iPhone 14 series, moving away from the traditional SE design featuring the Touch ID home button. Instead, the device is likely to integrate Face ID biometric technology.

Another notable change is the inclusion of a USB-C port, aligning with global regulations, including the European Union’s Common Charger Directive. This shift is aimed at reducing electronic waste by standardizing charging ports across devices.

Industry speculation suggests that Apple may equip the new SE with its first in-house modem, reducing dependence on Qualcomm for chip production. The phone is also expected to support Apple Intelligence, aligning it with the upcoming iPhone 16 series and the iPhone 15 Pro.

Analysts believe the refreshed SE model could find significant traction in markets like China and India, two of the world’s largest smartphone markets.

In China, Apple has faced challenges, including an 11% year-over-year decline in iPhone sales. The new SE could play a role in helping Apple regain market share amid competition from domestic manufacturers such as Huawei.

    PowerBeats Pro 2

Alongside the iPhone SE, Apple is expected to introduce the PowerBeats Pro 2 wireless earbuds, which could mark the first major update to the Beats lineup in nearly six years.

The new model is rumored to feature built-in heart rate tracking, signaling Apple’s continued focus on health and fitness technology beyond its Apple Watch and AirPods offerings.

    Compliance with EU Regulations

Apple’s transition to USB-C in the upcoming SE model also serves a functional purpose—compliance with the European Union’s Common Charger Directive.

This regulation mandates a standardized charging port for electronic devices sold within the region to reduce waste.

The previous iPhone SE was discontinued in the EU for failing to meet this requirement, making the forthcoming model Apple’s first fully compliant budget-friendly smartphone in the region.

    Additional Enhancements and Speculated Features

Reports suggest the fourth-generation SE may feature a larger 6.1-inch display with slimmer bezels, departing from the 4.7-inch screen of its predecessor.

Potential camera improvements include the introduction of a 48-megapixel sensor, though the device is expected to retain a single rear camera setup.

Powered by Apple’s latest A18 chip, the new SE is expected to deliver enhanced performance and energy efficiency. Expanded color options are also rumored, giving users more choices beyond the traditional black, white, and red.

    Future Product Developments

Beyond the February 11 announcement, Apple is reportedly preparing M4 updates for the MacBook Air and iPad Air later in the year. Additionally, rumors indicate the development of a smart home hub featuring a display, which could represent Apple’s entry into consumer robotics.
