Google has officially launched the second cohort of its AI American Infrastructure Academy, a four-month, equity-free accelerator designed to support startups leveraging artificial intelligence to address pressing infrastructure challenges in the U.S.
Highlights
- Program Overview: Google has launched the second cohort of its AI American Infrastructure Academy—an equity-free, four-month accelerator supporting startups tackling national-scale infrastructure challenges using AI.
- Startup Focus: The cohort includes 17 startups across cybersecurity, healthcare, education, transportation, and climate resilience, with a broader definition of “infrastructure” that includes digital access, health equity, and sustainability.
- Eligibility & Resources: Targeted at seed to Series A startups with at least 6 months of runway and signs of product-market fit. Benefits include access to Google AI tools (Vertex AI, Gemini, TensorFlow), executive coaching, design sprints, and global networking.
- Notable Startups: Attuned Intelligence (AI call center agents), Block Harbor (vehicle cybersecurity), Making Space (inclusive hiring), MedHaul (medical transport), Waterplan (corporate water risk) — all solving high-impact real-world problems.
- Modern Infrastructure Scope: Goes beyond roads and bridges to support innovations in water management, broadband access, smart agriculture, sustainable housing, and climate technologies.
- Global and Inclusive Ecosystem: Participants join a growing alumni network from other Google AI accelerators in Tokyo, Madrid, Warsaw, and São Paulo—fostering cross-border collaboration and growth.
- Aligned with Google’s AI Strategy: Part of Google’s broader investment in ethical AI, including the AI Futures Fund, Global AI Opportunity Fund ($120M), and targeted support for AI-forward startups.
- In-Person Engagement: The program concludes with a summit at Google HQ, enabling direct engagement with investors, engineers, and leadership.
The program spans key sectors such as cybersecurity, healthcare, education, transportation, and climate resilience.
Targeted at early-stage startups between the seed and Series A stages, the initiative provides technical mentorship, product guidance, and networking opportunities to companies that have at least six months of financial runway and early indicators of product-market fit.
While much of the program is delivered virtually, participating founders will also attend an in-person summit at Google’s headquarters.
