Meta has expanded its AI-powered chatbot, Meta AI, to include Arabic language support and has made it available in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
Users in Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, the UAE, and Yemen can now access Meta AI directly through popular Meta-owned platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger.
This expansion is part of a broader global rollout that now spans 42 countries and supports 13 languages, reaching approximately 700 million users.
Integration with Meta Platforms
Meta AI is integrated seamlessly into the Meta ecosystem. Users can activate the assistant by looking for the blue circle icon or by tagging @Meta AI in their chats. This integration eliminates the need for separate downloads or subscriptions, making the tool readily accessible for daily use.
Enhanced Features and Multimodal Capabilities
In the MENA region, Meta plans to introduce advanced multimodal features for Meta AI. An upcoming tool, “Imagine Me,” will allow users to generate AI-created selfies and portraits from text prompts.
The AI will support audio dubbing for Instagram Reels, enabling voiceovers in multiple languages. These features are designed to expand creative applications and enhance content creation.
User Engagement and Educational Initiatives
To promote its expanded capabilities, Meta has launched the “Elevating Every Moment” campaign, featuring prominent regional creators.
This campaign provides practical insights on using Meta AI for tasks such as planning events, organizing travel, and curating playlists.
Meta Arabia’s Facebook page now offers an educational series to guide users in crafting effective prompts and maximizing the tool’s functionality.
Accessibility Across Devices
Meta AI is designed to work on any smartphone running the latest versions of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, or Messenger, ensuring that both newer and older devices can access its features. This approach supports a diverse user base and enhances overall accessibility.
Future Developments
Meta plans to expand the feature set by adding more languages and extending support to enterprise users through Google Workspace Business and Enterprise.
The ongoing rollout of new capabilities is expected to further enhance interactive, dynamic experiences, reinforcing Meta’s commitment to integrating AI into everyday communications.
