Xiaomi fans can finally mark their calendars: the highly anticipated Xiaomi 15 Ultra is set to launch in February 2025.

The company’s CEO, Lei Jun, confirmed the news via Weibo, providing details of the flagship smartphone’s arrival in China.

Alongside the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, Xiaomi will also reveal its latest electric SUV, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra EV, in a simultaneous unveiling event. While the exact date and time are yet to be confirmed, the post has already sparked excitement among the tech community.

    Xiaomi 15 Ultra

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra has been generating buzz thanks to its powerful specifications and innovative features.

Powered by the cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, the device promises exceptional performance for demanding applications.

The phone’s camera-centric design sets it apart, featuring a quad rear camera system with a 50-megapixel Sony sensor. Leaks hint at a sleek, premium build and a partnership with Leica, bringing superior photography capabilities to the table.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will run on HyperOS, Xiaomi’s latest software, which offers a seamless and dynamic experience. Pre-orders have already begun on Xiaomi’s Mi Mall platform, signaling strong anticipation for the upcoming release.

Launch Date Leaked: February 26, 2025

Recent leaks have narrowed down the launch date to Wednesday, February 26, 2025, following a promotional poster that surfaced online.

This timeline aligns with Xiaomi’s usual release patterns and indicates the phone’s debut shortly after the Chinese Spring Festival.

The global launch is expected to take place at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona during the first week of March 2025, marking a key moment for the tech world.

    Photography Capabilities and Camera Setup

Xiaomi continues to push boundaries with the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s advanced camera system.

The rear camera array will include a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, excelling in low-light conditions. Additionally, a 50-megapixel wide-angle lens will enhance landscape photography.

This setup promises to outperform its predecessor, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, with significant upgrades in both image quality and zoom performance.

Enhanced Performance with Snapdragon 8 Elite

At the heart of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, designed for fast processing and smooth multitasking.

Expected to offer configurations up to 16GB of RAM, the device will deliver excellent performance for gaming, productivity, and media consumption. Coupled with the Android 15 operating system, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will provide a seamless user experience.

    Design and Display Features

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will feature a circular camera module and a quad micro-curved display. The 2K resolution display promises vibrant visuals for content consumption, while an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner ensures secure access.

The phone’s design aims to create an engaging experience with its premium look and feel.

    Storage and Battery Capacity

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will offer configurations with up to 1TB of internal storage, an upgrade over previous models.

The device will also feature a massive 6000mAh battery, a step up from the 5300mAh battery in the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. With 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, the phone ensures fast charging capabilities for users always on the go.

    Pre-Reservations and Global Launch

Pre-reservations for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra have already begun, with teaser images revealing the phone’s box covered with a cloth, heightening anticipation. The official unveiling is set for February 26, 2025, in China, with a global release expected at MWC in Barcelona in early March 2025.

The camera system of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will feature advanced functionalities, including a new photography handle kit and dual telephoto lenses for macro functions.

The primary 50MP camera will incorporate a 1” LYT-900 sensor, while the 200MP periscope telephoto camera will offer 4.3X zoom. Additionally, the 50MP ultra-wide camera, with a Samsung JN5 sensor, will be enhanced by Leica Summilux lenses, providing professional-grade photography.
